A new data note summarizes and analyzes survey data collected by HRSA, as reported for June 19, 2020. Among the key findings:
- Community health centers have now tested more than 1.26 million patients for COVID-19 virus since reporting began in April
- A total of 202,584 health center patients have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus, accounting for one in 11 (nine percent) of cases nationally.
- In the week prior to the survey, 148,684 health center patients were tested for COVID-19 virus.
- Continuing the trend seen in previous weeks, patients who tested positive were disproportionately racial and/or ethnic minorities (61 percent
- Health centers reported the temporary closure of 1,351 sites, or about one in nine sites nationally.
- Compared to their pre-COVID-19 average visit volume, health centers nationally reported a decrease of 27 percent in the number of weekly visits.
The data reflect the toll that COVID-19 is continuing to have on health center capacity, staffing, and operations.
