Launching the Inaugural Next Generation of Excellence Award
In July, we were pleased to launch the Next Generation of Excellence Award in partnership with the Association for Clinicians for the Underserved. The award recognizes student leaders pursuing training in the health professions who are committed to care and service in underserved communities.
The awardees were nominated by their institutions and selected for demonstrating initiative and leadership through direct service, innovation in care delivery, organizing and advocacy, and actively shaping programs and challenging systems to advance equity and access.

National Health Center Week and More on CHroniCles
Last week’s National Health Center Week events gave us an opportunity to reflect on the incredible 60-year legacy of health centers in America, and their essential role as the backbone of primary care for low-income, underserved and historically disenfranchised communities. Beyond NHCW, we continue to celebrate the legacy and vision of the health center program throughout the year with the CHroniCles project. During NHCW, we shared many “Spotlight on History” and “Milestone Anniversary” stories that capture the unique character of each health center, fulfilling a promise to their communities.
