A new report by Leighton Ku and coauthors highlights the unique value of community health centers, which operate in more than 13,900 diverse communities across the United States. The authors show how non-profit community health centers promote health equity, lower health care costs while providing high-quality care, and create economic opportunity in the communities they serve. The report demonstrates the importance of continued support for federally-funded community health centers, which today provide high-quality primary and preventive care to approximately 30 million people.
