As we move into the second month of the new Administration, it is evident that legislative and regulatory changes are  intended to occur at breakneck speed. Many carry significant  implications for community health centers, their patients, and access to health care for the communities  and populations they serve. We anticipate continuing  Executive Orders and  major changes in federal funding rules,  restrictions on benefits eligibility especially for low-income working age adults and immigrants, and restrictions of federal benefits and coverage support generally.

To help track and clarify these developments, we're pleased to announce a new website feature, Notes From Washington. This regular  update from the Geiger Gibson Program in Community Health will fill you in on key policy developments, including legislative actions  and administrative developments, affecting community health centers and their patients and medically underserved communities generally.

Our first post in the new series, by Professor Emerita Sara Rosenbaum, reviews President Trump's February 19th Executive Order (EO) “Ending Taxpayer Subsidization of Open Borders.”
