Based on a survey (2011) of 423 Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) of family planning provided at Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) the authors explore the scope of services, including on-site provision, prescription only and referral options for the range of contraceptive methods. They analyze the wide variability with respect to available methods, level of counseling, and provision of services on-site or through prescription or referral and discuss both current barriers and implications.
